Poland charges teen over alleged school attack plot

While Poland has not experienced any attacks linked to Islamic State, authorities remain on high alert amid a rise in sabotage attempts — including incidents targeting the railway network — since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

According to Dobrzynski, prosecutors accuse the suspect of publicly inciting violence and hatred online based on national and religious differences, as well as preparing for an attack planned for late 2024 or early 2025.

The investigation found that the man had allegedly gathered information on weapons, explosives, incendiary and toxic substances, bomb construction, operational methods, and techniques for creating, placing, and detonating explosive devices.

Dobrzynski said the suspect’s notes indicated he had been planning an attack on a school in the southeastern Podkarpackie region.
