The ambassador noted that the humanitarian cargo sent by Russia has arrived in Lankaran and from onward it will be handed over to the Iranian Red Crescent Society, heading to its destination.
On March 10, under President Ilham Aliyev’s instructions, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations sent humanitarian aid to the Islamic Republic of Iran. The humanitarian aid included about 30 tons of food products, including 10 tons of flour, 6 tons of rice, 2.4 tons of sugar, more than 4 tons of drinking water, about 600 kilograms of tea, as well as about 2 tons of medicines and medical supplies.
Today, the Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters (EMERCOM) dispatched medical supplies to Azerbaijan for onward delivery to Iran on a special flight. The humanitarian aid consisting of 13 tons of medical supplies has been delivered to Azerbaijan for subsequent transfer to authorized representatives of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
