Iran warns Israeli embassies worldwide could become targets

Iran will target Israeli embassies around the world if its diplomatic mission in Beirut is attacked, the official spokesperson of the Iranian Armed Forces, Abolfazl Shekarchi, said on Wednesday, according to Iranian media.

According to Shekarchi, Israel has threatened to strike the Iranian embassy in the Lebanese capital. He warned that such an attack would trigger a response against Israeli diplomatic missions globally.

“Israel has threatened to attack the Iranian embassy in Lebanon. If Israel carries out this threat and attacks our embassy, all embassies of that country will become legitimate targets for us,” Shekarchi said.

He also stressed that Iran is not in conflict with other countries apart from the United States and Israel, adding that Tehran bases its foreign policy on “the principles of cooperation and interaction.”
