Bear kills young woman after attacking tourist tent in Russia's Altai

A bear attacked a tent occupied by tourists in Russia’s Altai Republic, dragging a young woman into a wooded area, where it mauled her to death.

According to REN TV, citing regional emergency services, the incident occurred on the banks of the Biya River.

“The predator attacked the tent, tore it apart and dragged the woman out. The bear then took her into the forest, where it mauled her to death,” the emergency service said.

The Investigative Committee has launched an inquiry into the incident.
