Azerbaijan records population growth in January 2026

As of January 1, 2026, Azerbaijan’s population increased by 37,462 people, or 0.4 percent, reaching a total of 10,262,351, according to the State Statistical Committee.

Population distribution data show that 54.3 percent of residents live in urban areas, while 45.7 percent resident in rural areas.

In terms of gender composition, 49.8 percent of the population are men and 50.2 percent are women.
