WUF13: New “Baku Urban Award” established this year

“Starting from this year, a new award titled the ‘Baku Urban Award’ is being established. Presentation ceremonies for the award are planned to be held within the framework of future World Urban Forums,” said Anar Guliyev, National Coordinator for the 13th Session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13) and Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture, while speaking to journalists, according to AZERTAC.

Anar Guliyev noted that the ministerial meeting will also be organized in a new format for the first time, with a separate dedicated venue allocated for the event. He added that additional innovations and new discussion platforms will be introduced to participants during the forum.

“Today, Baku is ready to welcome guests from countries around the world and create favorable conditions for discussing the most pressing issues in the field of urban planning and urbanization. At the same time, guests will be provided with comprehensive information about the projects implemented and the work carried out in Azerbaijan, particularly in Baku,” the Committee Chairman emphasized.
