Two killed after light aircraft crashes in Warsaw - VIDEO

A light aircraft crashed and burst into flames in Warsaw’s western Bemowo district on Thursday, killing two people on board the flight, according to TVP World.

The aircraft crashed shortly after 1 p.m. while attempting to land at the local Bemowo Airport, immediately catching fire upon impact.

Firefighters said two people were on board the aircraft and did not survive the crash.

Two bystanders were also injured and have been taken to hospital, Łukasz Darmofalski from the provincial headquarters of the State Fire Service said.

He added that the plane, which had crashed off the runway and into a building, had already burned to the ground before the fire could be extinguished.

Four fire brigades were dispatched to the site and are now securing the accident site.
