Serbia sets October 25 date for snap parliamentary election

Serbia’s current parliament will be dissolved on September 9, with a snap parliamentary election scheduled for October 25, President Aleksandar Vučić announced.

Speaking on Radio Television of Serbia, Vučić confirmed the dates for the dissolution of parliament and the early election.

Earlier, Serbian Prime Minister Đuro Macut submitted a proposal to the president calling for the dissolution of parliament, as part of the standard procedure ahead of elections.

Vučić is also set to be nominated by the Serbian Progressive Party as its candidate for prime minister.
