"This is God's final warning," warned the influencer posting the video in which he tried to burn the statue of Cristiano Ronaldo, the 40-year-old striker who currently plays for Al-Nassr FC in Saudi Arabia.
The burned statue was a replica placed in front of the CR7 museum, which had been moved to this location in 2016 after being vandalized by a group of fans.
Madeira police said they had identified the suspect, but have not yet arrested him.
A police source shared that "the perpetrator has been identified. He is not an unfamiliar face, as he has been involved in similar incidents before".
