Italy remains top buyer of Azerbaijan’s oil

Compared to January 2025, the export volume increased by 9.5%, while the total value declined by 7.6%. Crude oil shipments to Italy accounted for 69.91% of Azerbaijan’s overall oil exports during the month.

In January 2025, Azerbaijan exported more than 2.64 million tons of crude oil and oil products derived from bituminous rocks, with a total value of nearly $1.24 billion, based on customs declarations.

Overall, Azerbaijan’s foreign trade turnover with other countries amounted to approximately $3.54 billion in the reporting month.
