Dubai diverts flights after drone incident near airport - VIDEO

Dubai International Airport diverted several flights after a drone incident sparked a fire near the facility, according to Dubai Airports.

Authorities said the affected flights are being redirected to Al Maktoum International Airport in the Jebel Ali area.

The diversion came after the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority temporarily suspended flight operations at Dubai International Airport, one of the world’s busiest hubs, as a precaution.

According to the Dubai Media Office, the fire broke out at a fuel tank but has since been contained.
