Azerbaijani karatekas win six medals at EKF Championships

Azerbaijani karate fighters put in a strong showing at the 2026 EKF Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships, held in Limassol, securing a total of six medals — one gold, one silver, and four bronze.

Elmaddin Malikov (68kg) defeated all his opponents to claim the gold medal.

Vusal Ganbarov (55kg) won silver, while Salman Salmanov and Jansu Ahmadzade (both 66kg), Ravan Abasov (61kg), and Aslan Dostuyev (60kg) secured bronze medals.

Overall, the continental competition in Limassol brought together nearly 1,500 young athletes from 50 countries.
