Azerbaijan elected UNESCO Committee Bureau Vice-Chair

On February 17–20, the 19th session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions was held at UNESCO Headquarters, according to local media.

The Permanent Delegation of the Republic of Azerbaijan to UNESCO attended the session.

Following the agenda, the Bureau members for the Committee’s 20th session were elected on February 20.

Following the elections, Azerbaijan was unanimously elected Vice Chair of the Bureau.

Azerbaijan’s election to this important position is yet another manifestation of high international recognition of the country’s contributions to the protection and promotion of cultural diversity, as well as the implementation of the goals and principles of the relevant UNESCO convention.
