Azerbaijan, China enhance wind and solar energy cooperation

“China and Azerbaijan collaborate on a number of solar and wind energy projects,” said Lu Mei, Chinese Ambassador to Azerbaijan, as she addressed a reception in Baku marking the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

According to her, the green transition has become a salient feature of China’s modernization.

“China plays a crucial role in driving the global green transition. The country has established the world's largest green energy industry chain and provided many countries with access to affordable, high-quality, and environmentally friendly energy solutions,” the diplomat noted.

Touching upon the cooperation with Azerbaijan, Ambassador Lu Mei fondly recalled her participation at the inauguration of the Gobustan Solar Power Plant together with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
