Yemen's Houthis claim ballistic missile attack on Saudi oil tanker

Yemen's Houthis carried out a ballistic missile attack on the Saudi oil tanker Wafa in the northern Red Sea off the coast of Yanbu, the group spokesman, Yahya Saree, announced on Wednesday, Al Jazeera reported.

On Tuesday, Houthis also claimed that it carried out a drone strike targeting a “sensitive target” at Najran Airport in southern Saudi Arabia.

Yahya Saree said in a post on X that the drone attack accurately struck its intended target.

According to Saree, the operation was launched in response to what he described as repeated Saudi drone violations of Yemeni airspace over the provinces of Saada and Hajjah.

He warned that any future violations of Yemen’s airspace “will not pass without response and punishment.”
