Two LNG tanks explode and catch fire in Oklahoma - VIDEO

Emergency services are responding to a liquid natural gas tank fire near Highway 75 and West 126th Street in Glenpool, Oklahoma, in the United States.

Two tanks have exploded and remain on fire. Crews are at the scene working to contain the blaze, mitigate the fire and prevent it from spreading further.

The Glenpool Police Department said the intersections of West 126th Street and South Elwood Avenue and West 126th Street and Casper Street have been shut down.

Drivers are being urged to avoid the area. Alternative routes are available at West 121st Street South and South Elwood Avenue.

Lightning struck an oil storage facility in the US — two tanks caught fire

Highway 75 remains open, but drivers are advised to exercise caution if they need to travel along the highway.

Police said no injuries or additional fires have been reported at this time. All surrounding businesses and residences have been evacuated.

Glenpool Public Schools is sheltering in place as a precaution.
