Türkiye hails US decision to remove Syria from terror list

The Turkish Foreign Ministry has welcomed the United States' decision to remove Syria from its list of state sponsors of terrorism.

In a statement, the ministry emphasized that the constructive approach of the US Administration and the US Congress, which supported the process, was praised.

The MFA congratulated the Syrian government and people for their firm stance, stressing that with this important step – long supported by Türkiye – one of the biggest obstacles to Syria's economic recovery and reconstruction has been lifted.

It added that the decision is expected to strengthen Syria's relations with the international community and give momentum to efforts aimed at ensuring lasting security and stability in the country.
