US President Donald Trump said the conflict with Iran could end shortly after the November congressional elections, although he also suggested it could conclude before the vote.

“It should end right after the election,” Trump told Fox News. “Maybe it ends before [the midterms], but I think it's going to end right after,” he added.

Asked by Fox News host Laura Ingraham whether he regretted the war with Iran because of its potential impact on the elections, Trump said he does not believe in the word “regret.”

“You can always question yourself a little bit,” he said in an interview broadcast Thursday on “The Ingraham Angle.”

“If I had to do it again, I would do exactly as I did,” Trump added.

The United States will hold its midterm congressional elections on November 3, 2026. The elections will determine all 435 seats in the House of Representatives and 33 of the 100 seats in the Senate.
