SOCAR receives 2 bcm of ACG associated gas in H1 2026

In January-June 2026, SOCAR received an average of 11 million cubic meters of associated gas per day from the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) field block in Azerbaijan's sector of the Caspian Sea, according to BP Azerbaijan.

A total of 2 billion cubic meters of associated gas was delivered to SOCAR during the reporting period, mainly through the Sangachal terminal and facilities at Neft Dashlari.

The volume of associated gas supplied to SOCAR in the first six months of this year increased by 0.5 billion cubic meters, or 33.3%, compared with the same period in 2025.

The remaining portion of the produced associated gas was reinjected into the reservoir to maintain pressure levels.

The production sharing agreement (PSA) for the joint development of the ACG block and the distribution of extracted oil was signed on September 20, 1994. The Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC) was established in February 1995.

A renewed agreement on the joint development and production sharing of the fields was signed on September 14, 2017, extending operations at ACG until the end of 2049.

The ACG project partners are BP (30.37%), SOCAR (35.3%), MOL (9.57%), INPEX (9.31%), ExxonMobil (6.79%), TPAO (5.73%) and ONGC Videsh Limited (OVL) (2.92%).
