Poland considers sending another batch of Patriot missiles to Ukraine

Poland is considering transferring another batch of Patriot missiles to Ukraine, with a decision expected in the coming days.

Polish Deputy Defense Minister Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czarnecka said any decision must take Poland’s security into account, RMF FM reported.

“This decision must always be made in the context of the security of Poles, and all arguments must be weighed,” she stressed.

She said a decision could be made in the coming days, while negotiations are continuing with both NATO and the United States.

According to the deputy defense minister, the assessment has also been influenced by a recent incident involving a Russian missile that entered Polish territory. She added that Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz currently favors transferring another batch of missiles to Ukraine.

Asked when a decision could be made, Sobkowiak-Czarnecka said she expected it within the coming days.

In July, Poland’s Defense Ministry officially confirmed that the country had transferred PAC-3 missiles intended for Patriot systems to Ukraine several months earlier. Prime Minister Donald Tusk said five missiles were involved.
