Hegseth: US weighs all options, including military action against Cuba

The US administration is considering all options for further action against Cuba, including the possibility of a military operation, US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth told journalists in Panama.

“All options are being considered, including military ones,” Hegseth said in response to a question about the possibility of US military action against Cuba.

Hegseth urged the Cuban authorities to take into account US President Donald Trump’s readiness to defend key US strategic interests. He said Washington has “many options” for further action against the Caribbean nation.

Hegseth had previously warned Cuba that acquiring weapons capable of threatening the United States or the US military base at Guantanamo could lead to a military confrontation.
