Falcon 9 upper stage set to impact the Moon

The four-ton upper stage of a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket is set to collide with the Moon's surface on the morning of August 5, the Guardian reported.

The rocket stage is the one that launched Firefly Aerospace's Blue Ghost-1 lunar lander and ispace's Japanese lunar spacecraft, Resilience, toward the Moon on January 15, 2025.

According to experts' calculations, the impact is expected to occur at around 06:35 GMT (10:35 Baku time). The upper stage is projected to strike the Moon's surface at a speed of approximately 8,690 km/h.
