China's XPeng to mass-produce humanoid robots by end of 2026

Chinese technology company XPeng plans to begin mass production of its IRON humanoid robots by the end of 2026.

According to a company press release, the initial model has already completed an automated assembly process and rolled off the production line.

XPeng said it has launched what it describes as the world’s first automated production line for high-level, general-purpose humanoid robots, with an automation rate exceeding 80%.

The company plans to start mass production by the end of 2026 and begin supplying the robots to the market in 2027.
