Azerbaijan, Georgia, Türkiye, Bulgaria eye new energy corridor

Azerbaijan, Georgia, Türkiye, and Bulgaria are negotiating the creation of a new overland electricity transit corridor, Georgia’s Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Inga Pkhaladze said, AZERTAC reported.

“This initiative is of considerable economic importance and interest. Alongside transit, Georgia will also export its own electricity, which will, in turn, support local businesses and contribute to the further development of the country’s energy sector,” the deputy minister noted.

According to her, the new project will enable electricity from any interested country, primarily neighboring countries, to be delivered to Europe through Georgia.
